1What SMS Is For
Mood Bank may send SMS messages only where the applicable communication policy and member permission allow it.\n\nOptional SMS may include member-directed reminders, event or editorial updates, and other categories a member has explicitly enabled.\n\nRequired account or security notices are operational communications and are separate from optional SMS preferences. Mood Bank does not treat a verified phone number as blanket permission to send promotional messages.
2Phone Verification Is Not SMS Consent
Mood Bank requires an eligible mobile number for identity and security verification. Verification may use a one-time code delivered by SMS.\n\nReceiving that verification code does not enroll you in optional Mood Bank SMS communications.\n\nOptional SMS consent is collected separately and must be an explicit member choice.
3How You Opt In
Where SMS is offered during application or account setup, the SMS permission control is presented separately from phone verification.\n\nThe control is optional and should not be selected by default. Choosing not to receive optional SMS does not by itself prevent membership.\n\nCurrent release copy for the optional permission is intended to make clear that message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and STOP and HELP are available.
4Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on the categories you enable and the activity connected to those categories. Mood Bank does not promise a fixed monthly number.
5Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
6Opt Out
Reply STOP to an optional Mood Bank SMS to unsubscribe from SMS communications. Mood Bank may send a final confirmation that your opt-out was processed.\n\nYou may also change SMS preferences inside Mood Bank where those controls are available.
7Help
Reply HELP to a Mood Bank SMS for support information, or contact ced@moodbank.org.
8Privacy
Mood Bank does not sell your mobile phone number or SMS consent information.\n\nYour phone number and messaging-consent information are not provided to partners or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional use.\n\nMood Bank uses messaging and verification service providers, including Twilio in the current production architecture, to deliver verification and SMS services.\n\nFull details are available in the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
9What We Will Not Put in SMS
Mood Bank SMS is designed to be discreet. Journal text, Journal audio, sensitive private context, private Vault content excerpts, detailed clinical information, detailed financial hardship information, and other intimate Product content are not used as SMS message copy.\n\nSensitive detail belongs behind authenticated entry into Mood Bank.
10Examples
Appropriate example: “One of your Anchors has a date coming up. Open Mood Bank when you have a moment. Reply STOP to opt out.”\n\nAppropriate example: “There is an update in your Mood Bank. Open the app to review it. Reply STOP to opt out.”\n\nMood Bank avoids SMS copy that exposes private Journal, relationship, health, financial, location, or Safety detail.
